THE HAITIAN PROBLEM?
“The Haiti problem is not a democratic or republican problem. It is that there has been an insidious conspiracy against the Haitian poor by the US, French and Canadian governments for years. The duly elected President Jean Bertrand Aristide was kidnapped by the Bush 2 government in 2004 and flown to Africa. Aristide was also elected in 1991 but a coup influenced and aided by the US government took him out 7 months later. Remember the US invaded Haiti in 1915 and occupied it for 19 years and then supported the murderous dictatorship of Baby Doc Duvalier. The historical hate for Haiti by powerful white countries goes back to 1804 when Haiti was the first slave nation to defeat a white colonial power. The white world has never forgiven Haiti since. An excellent work, Damming the Flood by Canadian writer Peter Halward explores this hatred and how the US government destabilized and destroyed Haiti between 1991 and 2004. By the way, don’t believe one word that comes out of the mouth of a US official regarding foreign policy. They are all liars. It’s capitalism (corporations + government)to enrich the rich and exploit the poor at the expense of the poor. It’s happening in the US now!”
